Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Tenet ("the Service"), operated by Max Bettinelli ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, and shares your information.
What We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account through Clerk, we receive your email address and display name. Clerk may also provide profile information depending on how you sign up (e.g., Google, GitHub).
Payment Information
Stripe processes payments. We receive confirmation of transactions but don't store your credit card number or full payment details.
Prompts and Responses
Playground prompts and the AI responses they produce are public by default. This data enables the feed, leaderboard, and open dataset. You can toggle "Share to feed" to remove a comparison from the feed and future exports. Do not submit confidential information there.
Tasks, test cases, criteria, and judge scores are private to your account. They are not included in the public feed, the open export, or similar-question search. You can remove a Playground comparison from the feed with "Share to feed"; copies already downloaded cannot be recalled.
Your prompts are sent to OpenRouter, which forwards them to the AI model providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others) to generate responses.
Usage Data
We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. Vercel, our hosting provider, processes this data.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate and improve the Service
- To process payments and maintain your account
- To display public comparisons in the feed and leaderboard
- To create and maintain the open dataset
- To communicate with you about your account
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
What We Share
Public Content
Prompts and AI responses are public by default and shared openly. They appear in the feed, can be viewed by anyone, and are available through our export API under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. We do not include user IDs or email addresses in the public export.
Third-Party Services
We share data with service providers who help operate Tenet:
- Clerk — Manages authentication; receives and stores your email and profile
- Stripe — Processes payments; receives payment information
- OpenRouter — Routes AI requests; receives your prompts and forwards them to model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.)
- Vercel — Hosts the Service; processes requests and logs
- Neon — Stores our database; contains account and comparison data
These providers have their own privacy policies governing their use of data.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or property.
Data Retention
Account information is retained while your account is active. Public prompts and responses are retained indefinitely as part of the open dataset.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including access, correction, deletion, and portability.
To request deletion of your account or personal data, contact us through the site. Note that you can remove your comparisons from the feed and future exports using the "Share to feed" toggle, but copies already downloaded cannot be recalled.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. Clerk and Stripe may also set cookies as part of their services.
Children
Tenet is not intended for users under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
International Users
Tenet is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated through the Service. Your continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
