Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Tenet ("the Service"), operated by Max Bettinelli ("we", "us", "our"), an individual based in the United States.
Using the Service
Tenet lets you compare AI models side-by-side. You submit a prompt, we run it through multiple AI models via OpenRouter, and you see the responses together.
To use the Service, you must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. By using Tenet, you agree to these terms.
Public Content
Playground prompts and AI responses are public by default. When you run a comparison, that prompt and its answers can appear in the feed and the open dataset. Do not submit anything confidential, proprietary, or personal there.
Tasks you save are private to your account. They are not added to the feed, the open dataset, or similar-question search. Saving a Playground result copies it into the task; the Playground result itself stays public if sharing is on.
We share this public content under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. See our Open Data page for details.
Payments and Billing
Some features require payment. You purchase compute credits through Stripe, our payment processor.
How billing works: When you run a comparison, we estimate the cost and hold that amount from your balance. After the comparison completes, we charge you the actual cost based on what the AI providers charged us. If a model fails to respond, you're not charged for that model. Any difference between the hold and actual cost is adjusted automatically.
Purchased balance is non-refundable. Once you buy compute credits, they cannot be returned for a refund. Credits do not expire.
Prices are in US dollars. We may change pricing at any time, but changes won't affect credits you've already purchased.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for illegal purposes
- Submit content that violates others' rights
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or scrape the Service beyond the provided API
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Create accounts in bulk or use automation to abuse the Service
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Third-Party Services
Tenet relies on several third-party services:
- Clerk — Authentication and user accounts
- Stripe — Payment processing
- OpenRouter — AI model API access (your prompts are sent to OpenRouter, which forwards them to the model providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.)
- Vercel — Hosting and deployment
- Neon — Database infrastructure
Your use of the Service is also subject to these providers' terms of service. We're not responsible for their actions or failures.
Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. AI responses may be inaccurate, inappropriate, or offensive. You're responsible for how you use AI-generated content.
We don't guarantee uptime, and the Service may be unavailable at times.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the Service. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
